IF YOU ARE on a journey of personal development of any kind, it can make socialising more of a challenge. Often self-progress and socialising don’t come together. Which can often mean people wanting to make progress with their personal goals, particularly with their body and their brain and their business goals, feel the need to avoid all social situations all together. However we are here to tell you, that, if the journey you are on is promoting this, you need a change of approach as this is not sustainable for you and your plan is wrong, no ifs, no buts, yes even if you think ‘but if i just knuckled down for now’, even you need to have a leveled approach in order to feel happy and emotionally healthy.

We know that your goals are really important to you and you’ve got that constant reminder of why they’re important to you because you’re doing your daily rituals and you’re constantly reminding yourself of your goals, what they are, and most importantly, how important they are to you.

This is when we move onto that lifestyle because, every single thing we do equates to or makes up what our lifestyle is. We have had an extremely hectic and poorly balanced lifestyle at times, working ridiculous amounts of hours when Ryan had Fit Body Jersey he was working 15+ hours a day, plus trying to fit both of our training sessions in, plus trying to find time for Aoife-Mae, it was chaotic, to say the least.

Elly had also worked in finance for 8 years where her lifestyle comprised feeling the guilt of not at work by 8 am, most days working through her lunch break, grabbing what she could when she could have the convenience of the chocolates left by colleagues were an easier choice especially when workloads were high during this time she did not see the benefits to taking a time out even if it was for just 15 minutes as this would even benefit her work productivity. Elly will also admit that confusion about what she could eat made it a lot more difficult to make healthier choices.

Sleep became a nice-to-do rather than a necessity, and eating well was something that really slipped too, all because our lifestyle was so poorly balanced. We opted for convenience over importance and health and we felt

✔ Tired

✔ Fed up

✔ Lethargic

And if we had carried it on and not decided we needed to change, not only would we have suffered, but Aoife-Mae would have too.

That’s why we want you to focus on getting that balance around your lifestyle so that things become more sustainable. So what is a balanced lifestyle? It’s an important question and we would say you could ask 100 people and get 100 different answers, but to us, a balanced lifestyle is living a happy and healthy life that helps you deliver the results in all areas of your life according to the importance they hold to you.
